Just finished reading the Hondamatic story on ATV Connection, its sounds pretty cool. No belts is a big plus for me.

It has a lot of new technology for an ATV tranny, deos anyone know how long this kind of drive has been around? Is it going to hold up? Every Honda I've owned has been rock solid, I suppose this will be also. Should I wait a year or line up to buy one now?

This type of drive has been in quality lawn tractors for years such as Massy Ferguson and Case 14 hp too 16hp models.

honda invented it in 1967 in a scooter..has been used flawlessly since then in Japan only police carts and bikes.. even in 1992 they put it in a Japan only CR250.. it is a proven design.

No one else has the design. Honda has almost 160 patents on it to prevent anyone from copying it.
