Hello I am curious as to how well a 4x4 runs on top end, and also how long can they run on country roads at full throttle without getting overheated. I am still trying to decide between a 300 ex,warrior, and a wolverine. I am 6'3" so I think I may actually be a little to big for a 300. I do not think I can afford a used 400, I am only planning on spending 2000-3000 dollars. Any help is appreciated.By the way how much stronger is a 400 than a 300 ex. I have owned a 250x and I really loved it, it was just starting to not pull me around and up hills the way I needed. But it needed rebuilt.I am not a big hill jumper, just trails, cornfields, and country roads.
Thanks Steve

the 400EX is a fair bit bigger. if you don't need the extra traction of the 4X4 i wouldn't bother, anyways a wolverine would cost as much or more than a 400EX, unless it was an old one. a 4X4 doesn't overheat when run wide open for long periods of time, at least ours don't.

ALL stock quads should be able to take WOT operation indefinately at speed. Unless you are digging around in very thick woods, or ride at abused public riding(read intentional/unatural godzilla sized mud pits) areas you might not need 4x4.-"just trails, cornfields, and country roads" is the ticket for 2wd.
