I am planning on buying two four wheelers sometime in the near future.(One for me and one for my wife.) I ride mostly trails and hills. I like to jump and go fast, but don't race much or see too many dunes. I like to shift and like the option to modify as much as I want. I am thinking of the 400 for me and the scrambler for my wife. I don't think she'll want to shift and she'll probably want reverse. Also, this would give me the option of riding one or the other in case I wanted to do some serious climbing or mudding. I've also considered the 300ex for her!! Don't know too much about the 400 scrambler as opposed to the five so any info on any of the above is appreciated. Also, I'm in no hurry and hear some rumors about possible new stuff from Polaris and maybe even Yamaha. Thanks for your help!!!

A scrambler would be a good thing for a wife, but this is my opinion, I think you should stay away from the 400 2 stroke if possible. I have heard that they have a shorter life

If she does want to shift dont forget about the Yamaha Wolverine. You can modify it alot and might be a little more reliable than a polaris. The only problem with that is she might not want full time 4wd.

I have a 2000 400ex and love it ! My wife had never been on, or rode a quad before, and I showed her how to ride it in about 5 minutes. It has enough torque that you dont have to shift it every two seconds. Now she rides it all the time and loves it !
