air box question

Is their a possiblity that you can blow a valve if you have the lid off your airbox?? IM trying to prove someone wrong here and i kno you guys are the best of the best to ask questions to.

If you simply remove the lid and do not compensate for the greatly increased air flow by re-jetting, then yes, you can cause extensive engine damage depending on how lean the engine is. Burned or broken pistons, rings, valves, scored cyl. walls are some of the worst cases. Even bottom end damage if any pieces fall down into it. ALright looks like my lid is back on the airbox.. WHat is re jetting?? how much does it cost give me some info on it please. Thank you very very much tho!

re jeting doesn't cost much, or none at all. re-jetting means to change the air/fuel mix. allow more/less gas in the mix
