How do i know if i need to adjust my valves? I think i do. It makes a ticking noise after riding for a while and after its warm but not right when u start it up. How can i be positive? I dont wanna bring it to the dealer and waste all my money.

Checking them is just about the same as asjusting them, you have to tear the quad down enough to gain access to them then use shim gauges to check their clearance with the motor at TDC at the end of the compression stroke... But if you've gotten that far, you'd just adjust em enyhow if they're out of spec.

If you've not had the initial inspection done on your quad, you should have, as one of the things done is to adjust the valves, which on a new bike can be over specs, causing loss of power. Therafter, valves tend to be under specs, which can not only result in power loss, but can burn valves due to poor exhaust flow. After the initial service, valves should be checked and/or gapped about every six months, depending on hours of use.
Pick up a shop manual at you dealer for future maintenance.

After spending all that money on a new quad, the expense of proper maintenance is just good sense.
