One of my riding buddies has an '02 ES that doesn't seem to like water. On dry land, it purrs like a kitten. He can ride all day with no trouble. Splash around in any kind of water, or even soupy mud, and it starts to sputter, and usually dies. He submarined it the other day for the simple fact that he couldn't keep it running. He got in some water that was just over the exhaust, and it died. Had he been able to keep it running, he would have had no trouble getting through it. He thinks that it may be electrical, although after draining the bowl, it fires up and runs fine after a minute or two. It's under warranty, and it's going back to the dealer, but I wondered if anyone had any ideas as to what might be happening.

Check the Spark Plug wire and boot, It only takes alittle water to short that path to grounds. And any other wires connections.

Yup my Foreman used to do the same thing. I just put some spark plug grease on the spark plug, and I havn't had any problems since in deep water.
