the FNG needs help - 250SX

Just inherited my first ATV/ATC - a 198? 250SX.
My wife's stepdad decided he wanted to give it to me for some reason. Anyway, he's not a mechanical type so the only maintenance he's ever done is wipe off the cobwebs and add air to the tires and gas in the tank. He said he can't ever remember changing the oil. Funny part is, the thing starts every time with the first kick. He says "F'n Hondas..." and I laugh...
The first time I tried to crank 'er up, the throttle cable breaks. Temporarily, I'm using a pair of vice grips as the accelerator. Yea, I know, complete white-trash move. Might as well've used duct tape.
Anyway, I've been looking for a replacement throttle cable. I'm guessing I can hit any of the local cycle shops and special order one. In case I decide to be a recluse, is there any good resources for replacement parts. I've done lots of searches and can't find any replacement cables specific for a 250SX...but some for other early 80's HOnda 250 models. Are they compatible?

The folowing cables will fit your model if you can't find one speciffic to yours. All of the cables for the 1985-1987 ATC250SX are the same.
1985 only ATC250ES BigRed
1985 only TRX250 FourTrax
1987-1992 TRX250X FourTrax
1993-2003 TRX300EX FourTrax
1985-1986 ATC350X
1988-2000 TRX300 and 300FW FourTrax
Any Honda dealer should have these cables in stock. They run about 20.00 depending on the dealer.
An aftermarket cable can be had for about 10.00 and are available from many different sources. Try Dennis Kirk or any of the other popular aftermarket suppliers.
