A 400EX is faster!!

This is really funny! I congratulate you for posting such a humorous topic.
Here are some possibilities to explain your, uh, results.
1. Your 400EX was made by aliens with a hidden nuclear powerplant.
2. Your friend has the reaction time of a sloth.
3. Your friend's parents tweaked the throttle limiter on the Banshee.
4. The Banshee is missing a spark plug.
5. The Banshee still has the parking break on.
6. The Banshee is running oil at 5:1.
7. Your friend keeps forgetting what the word "GO" means.
8. When he realized what "GO" meant, he forgot again and hit the brakes.
9. You weigh 20 lbs, and your friend weighs half a ton.
10. YOU are an alien, because no one on this planet can do what you have done.
Lastly, it seems quite obvious that you really have no idea what the word "reality" means. Not even the most avid hondaphile claims what you have claimed. Aren't you wondering how you're going to be able to make a vidoetape of your dream????

I will be the first to admit, it sounds a little farout. But lets face it, the 400ex isnt THAT much slower than a banshee...its definately faster, but not out of sight. If the banshee owner does have a poor reaction time and missed a gear, or didnt use the powerband to the fullest I could see it happen. I can also understand the lead on the take off, if you dont feather the clutch using high R's on a banshee it really takes off like junk, expecially with pipes. The motors have NO bottom end power.

Hey-- I raced a banshee in the sand dunes and beat him bad in a 100 yard race. admit it a four stroke has better take of than a banshee in stock form. of coarse the banshee will get a 400 in the long run but thats not what counts. also in the race the guy was about 10 pounds lighter and was an expierienced rider.

No 400EXMan, I do not know a Kenny Clarke. But I would like to see this Banshee and 400EX in person. Like I said I'm only about 10 miles away and am willing to witness this first hand. Personally I think the Banshee should win, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Hey 400EX dude- did the guy on the Banshee have a pulse when the both of you guys raced?
I'm one of the most die hard Honda fans out here but even I have to admit that it is not possible for you to beat up on that Banshee as you say you did. I own a heavily modified 250R and I sand drag at the local races. I've seen 400EX's raced Banshees from mild to
wild and it is no contest, the banshee always wins out. Sorry dude its not possible C ya!

Actually Sandman I think it would take all of those things combined to make a 400EX faster than a Banshee. I killed a 400 in a drag and I can't even come close to my friends Banshee. By the Way we switched riders and same results. The MX track I race at run Blaster class and Fourstroke class at the same time I have not been beaten by a fourstroke yet on the holeshot, including a 440bigbore EX.

Not to brag, but there is NO WAY *ANY* 400ex would come anwhere close to beating my old banshee (which i sold...but LOVED). 89 banshee, FMF ported motor, FMF pipes...to make a long story short...FMF everything.
Hey, I have a 400ex now and i have more fun with it than my banshee...but there are times (Like at the last GNCC in indiana) when I know I just cant get up the hills the banshee's do. 400ex is too light up front....
But...the 400EX is CRAZY torqe'eee and a blast..

Hey ricardo, you must be smoking the same stuff as exman. The only possible way the 400 can launch with a Banshee in the sand is with no paddle tires. As soon as the Banshee hits third, it's bye bye time. Put paddles on them both, and there's no contest. Your idea that the 400 "hooks up better" only applies to something like loose terrain with a hard surface below, or in really soft loam. The reason is that the 400 doesn't have the tire spinning potential that the Banshee does. A lot of the Banshee's power doesn't get to the ground because it's spinning the tires big time. Get it to hook up and there's simply no contest. Heck, a 300EX could launch with a Banshee for the first 40 feet or so if the Banshee wasn't getting traction! Nice try, but there's too many people here that know better.
