I was was wondering what polaris four wheelers would beat my 300ex in a trail race,or a drag.

The only things i hve on my ex is an fmf pipe and a k&n air filter system.

A lot of it depends on the riders. If they are good or bad. For a trail race, if you are good on your 300ex, you should be able to come out on top. Your 300 ex has the lighter, better handling then a Polaris. But on a straight line drag, then some of the Polaris quads will take you. The 400 Sport and Scrambler, and the 500 Scrambler are a little faster in a straight line. You will beat a Trail Blazer pretty easy. I own a Trail Blazer and know that the 300ex is a faster and has better handling.

See, and you all think Polaris riders are bias. Not all of us are.

Hill,
On an MX track .. you could outrun my 97 Scrambler (it doesn't have the High Output engine that the 98 and on has) BUT.. in a drag race on sand, loose dirt, mud.. I WOULD get ya... Only because I can flip to AWD and let the front tires yank me out of the hole with almost NO wheel spin..
On tight twisting trails.. I don't know.. I'd like to think I can sling my Scrambler around pretty good.. I know i've ridden with a guy on a Warrior before and he finally gave in and asked me to slow down some..
As for hills.... IF the hills are TOUGH hills..(not a big wide open smooth hill) I can get the Scrambler to do more..
I have a 97 300EX myself.. its a good machine... and has its place as do the rest of them... IT does turn pretty quick, and accelerates well, but I just feel to big on it.. I guess I have become accustom to my Polarises roomy feel..

most big bore polarises (400-500) will take a 300ex in a straight line drag no problem. as far as trail racing polarises are big and heavy but get the right tires on and they carve!! a friends got a 97 sport with holeshot xct's and it turns on a dime! he can leave 300ex's in the dust, the sport with the xct's is on par with the ex in the corners then once they hit a straight he is gone! that 400cc 2 stoke sport roosts all over.

In a straight out drag most 400cc quads will get you but on the trails being a true sport bike I think you would wear them down because of the weight and size of the Polaris. I used to leave my brothers 250quadracer in the really tight woods with a 230quadsport but let it open up and you would never see him again.

If you are a good rider and you are racing on trails you could possibly smoke any polaris. It all depends on the rider and this is a fact unless you are just having a straight drag race on flat ground or blacktop, then the polarises would probably smoke the 300EX due to larger engine displacement.
