My axle bearings are toast, so I started to pull apart the rear axle assembly. Now does the axle slide out on the sprocket side or the rotor side. I cant seem to take off the spindle that holds the brake rotor to the axle. Is there some sort of a puller available or do I have to pry the thing off. If anyone has done this before and could give me some help it would be great. I'm in no hurry but the wife aint happy about the mess in the garage ya know hehe.

Thanks

I haven't pulled the axle on a 200x, but after looking at my 400ex (which should be similar), it looks like you'll need to pull the brake assembly off. If you've gotten the sprocket and hub off, you may be able to smack the axle through the other way (especially if your bearings are toast). Just take a scrap of 2x4, place it against the end of the axle, and smack it with a heavy hammer. It should pop right out. I'm thinking it would be easier if the brake assembly was taken off, though. Try some penetrating oil or WD-40. Good Luck!!!

Ive tried smacking the axle through , keep spliting 2x4's and the wd-40 just aint working either. im hoping the brake assembly isnt rusted onto the axle that could make things a little worse
