I was riding in New Jersey and jumping some pretty nice size jumps and towards the end of the day my front right shocked snapped towards the bottom where its bolts on and the shock oil spilled out. Has anyone ever seen any thing happen like that before?

Hey where at in nj do you ride i am from phila pa and we ride in port elizebeth. I have a 91 250x and last year the rear shock leaked and only thing that worked was the spring i called east coast atv and they had one for $125 used depending on how you landed is the cause of the shock breaking . my friend broke 2 shocks on his banshee both on the same side.

i had the same thing happen to my 93 300 ex. We riding riding some pretty rough terrain and the lower mounting eye on the shock just snapped. The seal on the other front shock blew not long after. The rear shock lasted only another month and the seal went in it too. I bought a set of Pro-action fronts and a used rear shock (only $200 bucks for it)> i have also heard of the 250r front shock swap, although it rquires the mounts to be relocated.

if the rear gives trouble again try an xr600 ('85 on) shock....i have one in my 92 250x with the std 250x spring....works well...bit of fabrication to get in though....now i have adjustable preload....spring length...and firmness....with same shock travel (used original spring)...problem is the lower mount was shifted and the hose for the resiviour out the top of the shock had to be relocated......for $600new zealand dollars all the work was done....over here it costs $1100 for a PEP replacement
