I have a 400ex with a completely stock motor. Will a 440 Big Bore Kit work with all the stock engine parts? (stock pipe, filter, etc.) I intend on adding aftermarket parts as my cashflow will allow but am interested in adding the Big Bore Kit first. If possible, how much more power would it make before adding a pipe, filter, etc?

If you just add a piston, then yes, you'll be okay. But with any big bore kit, people usually opt for a more aggressive cam. The stock exhaust will choke the engine. It will not flow enough for you. So I'd buy a slip-on exhaust first, rejet, and then save up the rest for the big bore kit.

Hey jcv400ex, You live in Kane? I live in J-burg. Thanx for the reply. Champion motorsports in Wilcox Just got 5 new Cannondales. 2 moto 440's, 1 of them is a demo that he'll let you ride. I'm not sure if he is an authorized Cannondale dealer or not though. Anyways, we'll have to go rip it up someday.

Yeah, I'm at Scott's all the time. My Cannibal is down there right now. Yep, he's an authorized dealer now. We'll be playing around with the mapping tomorrow night.
