Default Honda 400EX Battery Location

I can't be the only one who thinks the 400EX battery location was designed by a Honda engineer who graduated from Notre Dame. I am looking for an airbox setup into which I can relocate the battery. Easy task until I tell you that due to the dust and mud I ride in I need a lid on the airbox and the stock type snorkel. Any suggestions would be appreciated. It will be so nice to get my fenders on and off.

That is one of few good points on the Raptor is its battery location.

Nuthunter,

Thanks for the valuable advice, however, I've decided to part out my 400EX. Do you think my transmission and axle could be used by all those Raptor owners that are in dire need of spare parts? On second thought, I'll just keep running it. It may get beat once in awhile, but it always gets me home. If it weren't for that damn battery location........

Michiganredneck,

When the Knowsalot Facility had a 300EX for 2 years I really never thought the battery location caused a problem.

I do not know who but look in a few mags. there is an air box battery box combo out there that is just what you want. Search the threads this was mentioned once before.

I am glad to see someone actually admit that there is only a "few good" points on a Raptor as opposed to the many bad points. lol Don't take this seriously, I'm just kidding. The Raptor is a good bike aside from the first year release.
