I lost my key
#2
Trace out the wires from the ignition switch, and you will come to a connecter on each wire. Disconnect them, then connect the two wires together, and that is the same thing as having the key on!!! This should work for short term. For long term, you can get another ignition switch, or install an inline switch on the line. It is almost a joke to have a key on a quad, because they are so easy to hot wire. At least it keeps the kids from messing with them without supervision.

I'm sure this won;t help much, but if your in a real bind, my buddies brother can start a quad with a small screwdriver.
We know cause my buddie and I went up to his place to pickup his quad that he had left just for the weekend. Turns out his brother had been there, since the keys were missing (my buddie didn't want him riding the quad so he kept the key) he just used a screwdriver! We get up there and the screwdriver was still sticking out of the key slot!
Buddie was NOT happy that day

A friend of mine came home one day and found the bars on her Blaster bent and the plastic all scratched up. Turns out her little brothers had been hot wiring the thing and riding it for months! They eventually dumped it over, and got caught.

Im not sure about this, but you could prob go to the dealer with your Title since it has the vin number and all and have them give you a new key, or if you know some1 with the same model year and quad they prob are interchangeable, i know a few people that have done that and get a copy made, the best bet though is to bring ur title to the dealer and have them make a key. For the people saying to take the kep part off and what not, resale value would hurt with not having the key.

Remember this: if you hot wire, you run chance of running your battery down easier. ( lights ). I do not believe that the keys are interchangable, 2 of my best friends have '01s. Their keys are not interchangeable ( i know, ive tried it ). You have alot of options, you can use a large switch from radio shack, or you can use a switch that was intended for a house alarm ( circular key ) , you can pick one up for about 10 bucks at RS. The easiest thing is just to get a key from the dealer, but these were just some ideas.
