To Res. or not to Res.

What type of fan did you use and where did you get it? Also, how did you mount it? It gets quite hot here in the summer and I've worried about that a little bit, especially since I tend to ride fairly slow.

Jerms,
I am sure you have seen those cheap little fans that sit in big rig trucks on the dash or sometimes they mount them right in front of their face.
I got mine at Walmart and even purchased 2 and haven't opened the other fan yet.
I can't remember the exact price but I think they were about $10.00 apiece.
I mounted it right in the open area where the exhaust head pipe comes out.
I took the fan mount off and then took zip ties to mount it to the frame. There is some mounting points already there for the very expensive honda fan. I then fed the wire up through a hole and over to the power point on the 300 when I want it on I just plug it into the power point with a cigarette lighter type plug.
With it on, it even blows the hot air away better for more comfort. I am sure you know what I mean by the heat that comes up from there in the summer.
I can take a picture of it if you want. Just give me your email address if you would like to see it.

Speaking of the accessory plugin, where in the world do you get an adapter so you can plug standard 12vold lighter-plugs into it? Yeah, yeah, the dealer, right? E-X-P-E-N-S-I-V-E, I'll bet.

Jerms,
Do you still have your plug that came with the trx300 4x4?
I then went to Walmart again and in the fishing --boating section they have the adapters that you can wire the cigarette type plugs into and then into the 300 power point.

There you go, thats what you need to wire into.
Then you can power lots of things. I don't hunt myself, but I also carry a Q-beam around at night to look at the deer that roam the property.
