Default 2 stroke?

I believe the two stroke era is over.

I will own one as long as I can, there just too much fun.

My 2 stroke ride right now is the 2001 KDX 200

You proabably will see a two stroke quad again, but it wont be anything like the old ones. The next one they make will probably have some sort of computer controled intake and exhaust making it have torque, hp, and not waste gas. Kinda like boat engines. Lmao, id love to see a new suzuki lt500m M standing for mercury, since all the other companies have their own out board motor division and research centers, suzuki and kawasaki would be out in the cold (polaris and cannondale excluded). Really though, ever rode in a modern 200+hp boat? our old skeeter with a slightly hopped up 200 mercury (rev limiter removed) would make you wish the seat went all the way up while it was bending u backwards then hit 85+mph so that the bill of your hat folds in half and your sunglasses seal to your face like goggles.

Honda has the capacity to make a clean two stroke and its sold in Japan as the street legal CRM250ar.

It uses activated radical combustion to burn the fuel/air charge.

I am not sure why it hasn't been sold in the USA.

Default 2 stroke?

The 2 strokes I have owned have all been finicky about changing altitude. Within an hour of here we can ride 4000' to over 11000' elevation, and jetting to keep the Polara$$es running without fouling plugs was a constant braincramp. Much happier with 4 stroke Hondas in terms of reliability. Also didn't get used to considering an engine rebuild (top end) as normal maintenance. So does the new 2 stroke technology address reliability and jetting issues?

The jetting issues would remain the same.

Because of the tree huggers in the USA, the CRM250ar still isn't clean enough for U.S. emissions stanadrds for street-legal bikes.

I am just someone that was able to ride two stroke street bikes/trail bikes in the 70's and I really miss it.

If there were enough advancements in two stroke technology so that the engines met the required standards, do you think they would re-introduce them in ATVs? Seems that I read recently that Bombardier has a new two stroke engine that is as clean or cleaner than a four stroke engine.

I love the sound of a two stroke. And the neck snapping acceleration.
