HAS ANYONE USED ONE OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEMS FROM
YOSHIMURA? OR DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO HAS ? I WANT A PIPE FOR GOOD TIGHT WOODS RIDING AND HILLCLIMBING. I RIDE IN ALOT OF SITUATION WHERE A PIPE THAT GIVES ME GOOD POWER THROUGHOUT WILL BE THE BEST. THANKS FOR ANY INFO.

The Racers at Denton Racing recommend the Yoshi or the DMC dual exhaust system. I opted for the DMC and it's really nice. It's loud, but not the loudest. Just don't get the Big Gun system, it's looks and sounds awesome, but really sucks! I hear the white brother E series is pretty good to if your on a budget. Oh also stay away from FMF cause supposedly the fall apart. Some rumors and some fact, hope it helps. I do really like the DMC though. Check out my site for some pics. http://members.home.net/umcpmark/index.htm

good luck.

I had a post a few months ago tryng to get some info on other exhaust options for a 400ex.
if you backtrack about 2-3 months you'll find some info. also on the yoshi site www.yoshimura-rd.com you will see that a full system will get you about an 8-12% increase in hp. I think that the only benefit of the full race system is the weight savings. a stock system weighs about 25-30lbs, while the yoshi weighs only 3.5lbs. trying to lose 25lbs on a quad can be quite costly with aftermarket parts.
I still have'nt bought a exhaust yet but It is down to 3 choices..... a pro circuit, ct racing or curtis sparks. good look and I hope my 2cents help

Why do you say the BigGun sucks? I haven't heard any complaints about it. Check out the review at:

Most people who have them are quite happy with the results.

bruce,
got your email. the reason why I narrowed it down to my 3 choices is as follows. the pro circuit has a proven track record on mx bikes, they offer 3 different tips for low mid or top end, and it haas a spark arrestor. last year I went to charlotte to see the atv expo and race. the majority of the riders all had a sparks system. the fit and finish was very nice and by far probally the nicest sounding system that I have heard. also sparks makes some sick motors and stuff for quads. The ct pipe is also very very nice and their company has a good reputation. they offer 2 options a full race and a mid race. If I were to buy the ct it will be the mid race. the full race is geared more towards a motor with mods. curretly I don't intend to get any mods. sometime next year I will get a cam and pistion with new springs. later.............
ron

also it has a spark aresstor.
