Foreman 450 valves
#1
what are the valve specs for the 450? and also, how do you get the piston at top dead centre. there is usually a nut at the end of the crankshaft, but where do I find the crankshaft? and also, it is suppost to be turned counter-clockwise, right? thanks for the help.

Wheeliedude,
I don't know if you've had your question answered or not? Here's the lowdown on valve specs for your Foreman.
1) Remove tank cover
2)Remove gas tank (make sure to turn off gas)
3)Remove plastic heat shield
4)Remove spark plug
5)Remove valve cover (4 screws)
6)Remove inspection cover on lower right side of engine case(looks like a small plug),you'll need a #5or#7 metric allen wrench.
7)Slowly pull your recoil starter cord untill your piston is at the top of the compression stroke. You can use a small flashlight to look in the spark plug hole to confirm this.
8)Look inside the inspection cover and insure that the timing mark(a T with a small line underneath) is located in the center of the hole.
9)Use a feeler gauge size .006, place feeler gauge between the top of the valve spring and the rocker arm.Loosen lock nut and screw down the adjuster until you feel slight resistance when pulling the feeler gauge.Tighten locknut and re-check.
10)Assemble in reverse order and go ride!
