I have a 94 Honda 300 4x4 which I ride in the mountains of southeastern kentucky. Around here there are lot of hardpack trails with deep mudholes from time to time that go across the whole road so you have no choice but to go through them. So I ride hardpack and mud both.

My best stuck story is from my first quad. A 92 Kawasaki 300 Bayou 4x4. I went out one day and was riding across a road, and one portion of the road had slid down the mountain a little bit. At the end of the slide you had to crawl up a 2 foot drop off, and when I hit it, I hit it wrong (due mostly to inexperience). The quad bounced off of it and to the left into this big mud pit. I tried for about 15 minutes to get out of the stuff but it was like quicksand, the harder I tried to get out the more I dug myself in. I had in in mud up almost to the racks, and it was that good mud, no water on top of it, just pure mud that stanks like sh*t. I finally had to wind up walking back out of the hills to my house to get the trusty ol 78 CJ-5 and pull it out with that. I sold the quad a couple of years ago, and I bet you to this day you can probably still find mud on it from that same stuck.
