Yeah, deals for honda's dont come up very often. The best deal i found was on an 86 250r with a good top end, nice plastics, full set of beach tires...list goes on. The only problem was that the guys second gear blew up and went threw the case. Bought a new left case plus the 600 bucks i had to pay FOR THE ENTIRE bike and she was running good. Like i say, the best deal i found for a 250r and i ended up owning it. Its hard enough trying to find a 250r, let alone somebody that doesnt even want it...

 

Just remember, its an 88, u dont know how hard its been ran, just check it over good and if its in a good shape then yeah make that trade rite now.

I know this is sort of off the subject,,but could you give me your opinion??
This week I bought a near stock(DG pipe) 1988 250R. New everything,,,,tires,bearings, top end, seat cover,,and even new plastic. Never was raced!!!. Bottom side of frame hasn't even got the paint wore off it. Under the seat,,frame is that SWEET HONDA RED!!
I gave $2600... Good deal?? Bad??
I really didn't NEED it,,but,,well you guys know how that goes!!!! Now, should I transfer my Elka's,, Hiper Wheels,,etc. from my EX to the R, and sell the EX??????

That sounds like a very good buy. Most seem to go around the 3's plus you got new plastic with it. Now that you have one of the best build production quads ever it would be a good idea to transfer your goods to that beast. Your next performance upgrade would be to send your cylinder to a competent builder and port your cylinder, you will be amazed at the power gains it will come back with. GOOD BUY!

 

Camegam, An R in the condition you stated would normally sell for about $4,000 maybe more.

Alba, make that trade asap, make SURE its in nice shape, if you get a beater you'll hate it, but if its in nice shape and you take care of it, you'll fall in love!

 

Even if it is a beater...2600? Like you said yourself a nice 4 trax would sell for about 4k. So you put that 1400 into it that you "saved" and you'll have a pretty dominant bike. You'll be making one hell of an upgrade from a kawi to a honda.
