I think Dirt Wheels said the slowest was the Magnum 325 4x4, in that test they said the Prairie 300 would do about 40-42, the Polaris could only do 35 mph. Man that's slow!

The slowest has the be the arctic cat 250 or quadrunner 250. My friends king quad could only go about 30 up hill, 40 on the straits and with me and him on it we got it going 55 down this long freakin hill.. haha that was fun. Arctic cat 300s are pretty slow i made my neighbor mad when he brought his new one over and i blew him away with my old 200sx.

truck,

how do you like your xplorer 250? i'm thinking of selling my Sport and getting one and giving it to my father (he let's me keep all my toys in his garage cause I live in the city). Does it sound and smell like a 2-stroke? He hunts so noise is a problem.

Thanks!!!

-Josh

Well piranha despite what your dad might think I killed a deer with 300ex and a cobra muffler which is loud. I rode to the woods then to my treestand and then 30 minutes later I killed a 7 point buck.

Nah, he's not really concerned about scaring any of "his" deer away because of the noise because he won't be driving all the way to his tree stand. However, on his way to where he sits he sometimes passes other hunters. I have offered to let him take my Polaris and he declined because it smells bad and it sounds like a "chainsaw on steroids" (his words). As you know, 2-strokes tend to smell kinda funky unless you use the expensive oil in them. I spend enough on the expensive stuff for my Banshee and my Mach Z and my cars....I won't be able to afford food if I have to run it in another toy of mine .

Thanks.

Piranha We love both of our explorers I think the 250 explorer is the best 4x4 for the money. We just put super swamper TSL's on it & man it will out mud all the rest of the quads we ride with.It is noisy compared to the 400 explorer, but for the money it is great!!!We hunt with both quads & never had a problem with noise or smell.Daryl

Pirahana, if you use the synthetic gold oil, there is very little smoke and odor.

It still has that 'chain saw on steroids' sound though. However, in the mid-90's somewhere, they improved the muffler somewhat so it would be less pingy than the older ones.
