I am 5 foot give or take 2 inches,130 LBS.
I cant decide on a blaster or a 300ex,some people have told me i am too tall for a blaster but i have ridden one and i was comfortable,and i knwo the blaster is 2 stoke and then ex is a thumper and that the blaster breaks r crap sompared to the ex's but the blaster is alot cheaper!!i would love soe info on pros and cons of each machine!THANX!

If you are just starting out, I would probably go with the Blaster and save a few bucks. It is still a pretty quick quad, and it handles well, too.

Then again, I think the 300EX is a little larger and a little more powerful, so it might last you a little longer before you feel the need to upgrade for more power or bigger size. If you are a younger rider, don't forget that you will grow!

Both quads have a huge aftermarket following, so either way you will be able to buy more power for not all that much cash later on, should you feel the need. If you buy the less costly Blaster, you will save about $1000...that can buy a lot of aftermarket goodies! Just remember that you can't really buy anything to make it a bigger quad...only faster.

Ride them both...see what you think. THey are both excellent quads. I doubt you will be dissapointed either way.

 

Sorry , sorry dont mean to be childish but i am a yamaha man and the blaster is 0.2hp more poerful than the 300ex sorry again but i had to say it

 

Get a 300ex, it is a better bike. And the chain is a hole lot easier to adjust.

I have a 250X, comparable to 300EX. I would have liked the blaster better for my first sport, but I already had 4 years riding experiance and just want to go fast.

 

Well lets see. 300ex..........electric start .......................reverse ................... more realiable .................more $$$ ....... well you get what you pay for. so get the 300ex !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! beleive me you will be very happry you spent the extra dough. well se ya

.If you user name on the forum indicates the type of riding you'll do, I think you'd be better off with the Honda. As a four stroke it is way more suited to technical trails than any 2 stroke due to it's low end torque. This means you don't have to be constantly shifting gears to stay on the pipe, as you would have to do with a Blaster. On the Honda you have reverse & electric start. You may not think these are important, but wait till you get stuck in a narrow dead end trail or stall on a hill & you'll change your mind. The Honda has hydraulic brakes all around compared to the Blaster's cable operated ones, which require constant adjustment & replacement of pads. The suspension on the Honda is equal to or better than the Blaster's, altho neither is adequate for serious riding.
Just so you know I'm not prejudiced
against Yamaha, I ride a Warrior & I like it a lot! The Blaster is a fun ride as long as you keep it on the pipe but it doesn't like to run down in the lower speeds where it has no power at all.
Just my thoughts.
