New Honda? It could happend.

January edition of Dirt Wheels has a tiny little section on the supposedly new Honda quad in the works with a cr250 dirtbike engine. Could it be true? Almost 45 horse power. Liquid cooled. Supposed to be tested by Dirt Wheels in a few months?
Hmmmm. It could happend. Maybe?

I doubt it, cause they are trying to phase 2 strokes out. It would make no sense for honda to make another 250r. Even tough it would be cool.
I think they may try to make a higher displacment, liquid cooled, four stroke thumper.

My bad. You're right Moose. I guess I got a bit to excited. But It would be possible to build a 2 stroke engine that had both fuel injection and a small timed blower. This could have a lot more precision on the fuel system. As I understand it Honda's working on that. 'Till then I maintain myself optimistic.

Can you purchase this bean oil at Walmart.
After I am woke up, I need something to smell after the coffee pot is empty.

Even though it is just a Honda dealer product (is it Service Honda?), I believe that it will probably come with a warranty from the dealer. They give their CR500AF a year warranty, I believe. I can't wait to see how they set up the cooling system (if they utilize the stock radiators or go with a TRX250R set-up) and how they change the gearing on it. Will they go with rubber-isolated engine mounts to mitigate the vibrations from the uncounterbalanced engine? Will they adjust the RC-valve for more low-end?
Yeah, it isn't put out directly by Honda, but it still might be worth a look...

I wouldn't guess that this engine can stand up to the abuse a quad dishes out, without constant rebuilds. And, with all the hot new 4-strokes coming out, what's the point? Quick, somebody buy one and test it for us!!
