I've got a 87' 250R and I'm trying to put a FMF gold series pipe on. When I couple the pipe to the header all the way the first bend of the pipe rests against the frame. Also, the bracket is about an inch off. Does the pipe and header coupling have to be fully engaged, or can I slip it out a little? The directions say to use the stock mount bolted to the back of the front engine mount. But I can't figure out which way. The one thing that throws me off, is the stamped logo (fmf) faces tword the ground when assembled. The label attached to the pipe said HONDA TRX 250R 87-89 Rev
Has anyone come across this configration?

Also any good starts on Jetting ?
I've got; K&N air filter, boysen reeds on stock cage, fmf rev pipe, turbine core II silencer, LRD boost port pro-X coated piston and standard head gasket.
Before all those I was running the stock 152 main, 148 pilot and #3 groove. ---alt. 0-400 ft

I have an '87 with the FMF Fatty with a Power Core 2 silencer. It bolted right up. I also have a FMF Ram Valve, K&N with outer wear and no lid on my air box. My jetting is stock with a 160 main. Good luck

If I remember corectly FMF make 2 pipe. One for the 86 and 87 and a different one for the 88 and 89. I have made them fit on both quads. The mounting bracket at the bottom of the frame does not line up. you need to make a spacer out of 3/4" flat metal and some kind of spacer to mount the pipe.Get the spacer that mounts inside exhaust flange to give you some more low end if you want some. This can be gotten at a muffler shop.

I had the same trouble putting FMF on my '85 ATC 250R. I had to modify the pipe a little to make it fit.
I put FMF on my wifes Blaster and it bolted up great, but the pipe was touching the bottom of the gas tank. It melted the tank slightly, I didn't notice it until I pulled the gas tank off at a later date.
