I just bought a Honda 300EX. I rode it no more than 45 minutes before I had 2 (yes...two) flat tires. Which brings me to my question...

How does everyone feel about that "stuff" you put in your tires to prevent flats? Does it work well? Does it cause any problems? Is there a particular brand that it better than others?

I'll do anything to prevent this mess...I can't even ride now! Where the heck do you get a ATV flat fixed, anyway?

Yes...I'm new at this. This is my first ATV...cut me some slack!
Thanks...

I have used "slime" and a generic brand sold at shucks auto called "snap" both worked great and didnt clog the valve stem. It sealed a pencil size hole withen seconds. Just dont use the junk fix a flat in metal pressure cans..the good stuf is in a squeeze bottle and either is green or looks like chunky elmers wood glue.

A pencil sized hole, eh? I need me some of that!

I just called the local ATV shop, and they sell a gallon of the stuff (he didn't mention what brand it was, and I forgot to ask...). The one gallon bottle is $29, so I figure I'll give that a try.

Since I already have a flat(s) (a really small hole from a thorn...in EACH tire, geez...), will this stuff fix an existing flat when I put it in?

I guess I can just try it, eh? Thanks for the info. Watch out for the catcus!!!

Tractor Supply, 1 gallon, $16.00, supposed to seal a 1/4" hole. Biodegradeable and water will desolve it.

CaseyG,
Like Texas, here in Az every where you ride it's either cactus or rocks. I'd reccomend that you use a qt of the stuff you found in each tire which would take all the gallon. Here in the West we need industrial sized amounts for the terrain we ride.
The trick in adding it is to release all the air you possibly can before trying to load it & after you reinflate your tires, ride the machine long enough to distribute the gorilla snot thruout the tires.Oh, and it's easier to add if you place the valve at 4 o'clock or 8 o'clock

Well, I took your advice and added the entire gallon of pink crap into my tires. Low and behold, it sealed the existing holes right up

Thanks for the advice everyone, I really appreciate it.

Stupid cactus...
