400ex plastic
#1
Has anyone fitted 400ex plastics on an 89R. I was considering doing this because you can get OEM platics for 400ex for relatively cheap when compared to OEM R plastics. If anyone has done this, how did you get around the difference in shape of gas tank and the tank cover the EX utilizes. Any particular problems occur?
Thanks

I remember seeing it done in a magazine before. I know it is possible. Here is a link with some pics of a 250R with 400ex plastic I found surfing the web. It's a 250R for sale. I'll try to find more info for you.

I needed a seat cover for my 400ex but I bought a new OEM 400ex seat for less than $60. I can't remember if I got it from BikeBandit or PowerSportsPro
I just checked and the prices have gone up a little. BikeBandit is $72 and PowerSportsPro is $64. Now that is just the seat (cover, foam, plastic base) none of the metal hardware or bolts. I found it better than buying a seat cover and having to put it on and use my old base and foam.
