Dont waste your money on the jet kit for the 250ex, the new needle that comes in the kit is too short. So the only thing that you will end up using is 1 jet, just got buy the jet from your honda dealer.

I bought the K&N jet kit for my nieces 250ex, and soon discovered what fendercover is talking about. The needle that came with the kit was too short, and also had very little taper. There was no way that it would work. I contacted Dynojet, and apparently there was a typo in the earlier kits, and the wrong needle was included. They sent me a new one, and although I haven't installed it yet, or compared it to the stock needle, it appears to be similar. I will install it soon and see what difference it makes.

Here is a easy way to do your main jet. Run the quad up a hill in third or fourth hard. Then take the air lid cover off try it again if it runs better go down two sizes on the main. If it runs worst go up two sizes in the main and put the lid back on. Then try it again.

Thanks for the info Dusty, I'm gonna call them and have them send me the correct needle. Last time I talked to them there wasn't any updated parts.

Just an update to the dynojet needle dilema. I installed the new one today. Comparing it to the stock needle, there appears to be little to no difference in the taper. It does have six clip positions for fine tuning though, and works as well as the stock does.
A problem I have had with this since new, and haven't been able to resolve is stabbing the throttle at idle will cause it to bog. Any of you carb guru's had this problem.

Check to make shure you have the right pilot jet in it. If you do go up on the pilot one size. Did you change the exhaust or air filter. While you have the carb off run the air screw all the way in. Put compresed air up throught the pilot jet hole and see if it comes out the back of the carb. Some times when they put carbs together small pieces of metal get traped in the small holes. Some times you can blow them out some times you have to get a new carb. Your problem is in the slow jet area.

Hey Harw,
Thanks for the response. I have tryed basically everything i can think of to get rid of the bogging. It has been there since the bike was completely stock. I have played with pilots, clip positions, lid on, lid off, blah, blah, blah. Currently running up 1 size on the pilot,(big difference in starting ease, or maybe i just figured out how to start it, lol), Dynojet needle 3rd clip, and a 108 main with the lid off. The bike idles fine, runs fine. The next time I mess around with it I'll try blowing it out. You could very well be right, as I've not heard of anyone else having this problem.
