ReconRanger,

You hit the nail onthe head. I'm one of those you're talking about. I'm in the Market for a new quad. I'm thinking about switching to "Big Red" but if I've got to wait past late spring that's it. I'm going to pick up a Z and soup it up. Honda is loosing big buck dragging their feet like this. They should have been R&Ding this ride as soon as word of the Z came out.

Shame, shame Honda!

If all you guys are so anxious for the 450 why dont you just build one of your own. yeah it might cost a little more but at least you would have a big red thumper to kick all over anything your buddies bring to the table. think of the money you will waste buying a quad now and then having to sell it when honda finally gets there butt in gear. I built mine a year ago now, used the 400 ex chasis, its working awesome.
walks away from stage 4 trinity raptors, predators not a problem, anything really my biggest competion was a heavily moded 250r and 330 r. still got the holeshot though. the crf makes 55 hp at the crank stock. destroke it to a 440 and port it and the hp goes up 60+ at the crank. now thats nice reliable power no rejeting to get peak hp everytime the temp changes a bit just 60+ hp everytime you start it.
now how long can you wait for this 450 of the future?

Speedracer-- Do you have any pics of your 450? Sounds nice, I would like to see some pics, if available.

Thanks

I was told that Honda had lost several of it's key people in the Design/R&D side of the business to companies like Suzuki and Polaris. Don't know if it is true, but if it is, that would explain a lot.

Well, I'm going to weigh in on this. Yes, the 400EX's are going for $4699, I know because I just bought one. Is this because the 450EX/R is coming out? No, it's probably more of a price war with Suzuki than anything else. Also, the prices on all their other 03 models are going through the floor too. Would I have waited for the 450EX / R? No, because:

#1 I never buy a first year model anything.

#2 The 400EX suits my needs

#3 I never jump on the bandwagon

#4 The 450EX/R is going to be a LOT more expensive than a 400EX

and

#5 I don't believe they will build one
