Default ATV Jack

My wife got me a fantastic ATV jack for christmas. I thought I would tell you guys about. It cost only $79.95 and she bought it at Sam's, which is a division of WalMart. You simply roll it under the belly of you ATV, pump it up with your foot and it jack's up the entire ATV for easy access to tires, etc. If you already have one, then this is not news. I just think it is real cool, and gets rid of that little old screw jack forever. Good riding.

I also have the Craftsman, nice tool to have in the shop. Here's a little tip, on the front wheels I replaced the axle bolts with longer ones so the threaded portion is not inside the wheel causing them to bind when loaded and trying to move the jack. Lubed all the wheel axle bolts and it works now like it has ball bearings even with the hefty Polaris on it.

Thanks for the tip Powerslider! My jack has been doing that alot. Do you by any chance have this issue? When I pump up the jack to the second notch and above where the bar locks into place. When I try to pump the jack some more in order to release the bar the jack won't pump anymore. Hell, it's happened after the first notch sometimes. When that happens I cannot raise or drop the height due to the jack not raising the height of the bar. I have to pick the quad up and manually pull the bar back. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

No MW I don't have the problem you describe, check the oil level in the jack, it may be low. check the release pedal and valve for sticking/binding, otherwise check with customer service for a new jack or maybe they'll replace the whole unit for you.....

Sounds like the jack is low on oil. On the side of the jack body, you will find a rubber plug. Remove the plug, and fill the jack body to the bottom of that hole (when sitting upright on level ground) with hydraulic jack fluid (do NOT use oil, you may damage the seals).
However, if it is new enough to still be warrrantied, I would call the Sears customer service, they may fill or replace the jack for you for free.
