Default '86 250 Fourtrax Hesitation problem-help!

My '86 ain't running like a top anymore. Well, it runs fine but it is hard to start after it sits for a week. You have to crank and crank and crank with the choke pulled to get it to fire. When it finally does fire it runs fine without any smoke from the exhaust to indicate burning oil or overfueling.. Then, while it is warming up and even after it is warmed up and the choke is off, you can't give it rapid full throttle from idle with out it dying. If you slowly apply the throttle though, it will idle up fine. It does this in neutral as well as when it is in gear. The idle speed is set to factory 1400rpm, and the idle mixture screw is at 2 1/4 turns but it doesn't seem to affect the hesitation problem no matter which way you adjust it. Does this carb have a power circuit to aid in rapid acceleration of the engine from idle? Does this sound like a jetting problem? I took it apart and cleaned the carb and blew out all the orfices and replaced the float needle but not the seat. Any ideas as to what my problem could be or suggestions?

The carb is the original stock carb with stock exhaust and everything. Except for adjusting the valves, the engine has never been touched. Can a pilot jet get washed out? Why would a stock jet all of a sudden be to big and start giving problems?
