Could someone explain to me how to use a ****** block or how it works?

To use a ****** block the winch cable goes around the pulley on the ****** block and back to the winching point. The circle part is hooked to what you are trying to winch. On a truck we usually put a tow strap on each of the front hooks and run it through the circle part of the ****** block. This doubles the effective pull from the winch. I know this is kind of a rough description of how to use one so maybe someone can go into a little more detail. I do know that they work great on pulling stuck trucks out!

 

A simple rule to remember:

If you attach the snach block to something that does not move (like a tree), then all you are doing is changing the direction of the pull - If you attach the block to something that will move (like a stuck quad) then you have doubled your pulling power.

With one block hooked to the stuck quad, you will double your winches power but cut the winching speed in half.

If your winching yourself out of a hole, run the cable through the block, and attatch the block to a solid object. Hook your cable backto yoru own machine and this will double your winch power.
