Today I went to purchase a used 2000 Warrior in excellent condition with a extended warranty a a price I couldn't refuse$3800 out the door. The only problem was I was 30 min to late and it had just been sold. So now I going to forget shopping in the used market in step into the new market. My decisions Honda 300ex or Yamaha Warrior? Just wanted to know if any on you honda riders could give me any info on the two. From what I hear the the honda is a far better trail machine and that is my major concern. Any comments on trails, speed, etc... would be greater appreciated? Thanks

I own a 97 ex and I love it. It is great on trails and on hills. I have a fmf exhaust and a k&n air filter sytem on it and it will keep up with a warrior. A ex is a great machine for trails due to its great hndling. I hoped I helped.

Just float around on this web site for a while and you can find many posts for each machine. (I have my share of them too) What type of riding do you do? That should be the determining factor on what you buy. I like my 300EX because it handles so much better than my brother-in-law's Warrior. But he can smoke me on the top-end run. We ride alot in the woods, and if he can't swing it around a turn, he will just mow stuff over. (he's nuts) Both quads are good quality, easy to ride, and plenty dependable too.

I cannot comment on the Warriors, as I've never ridden one, but I just bought a 2000 300EX a few days ago. I absolutely LOVE it. It is plenty fast (it will pull a mean wheelie), and it handles great.

I can't tell you that there is no better bike made for the money, because I really don't know, but I can assure you that if you get a 300EX you will not be dissapointed. It is a great quad.

I think the 300ex is the better quad. I have ridden a Warrior, it is by no means a bad machine I just like the 300ex better.

If you're in the market for a new quad, you owe to yourself to look at a Polaris Scrambler 400 4X2. I just bought one after looking at both of the quads you mentioned.
The scrambler will snuff both of them flat out.
I know that I'll get a lot of posts about how bad the Polaris's are... Tell it to my tail lights if you can see though my dust trail.

The 300ex is a super quad and responds well to mods, as does the warrior. I've never ridden a warrior so I can't tell you how they ride or handle. It's true the warrior is a more powerful machine, but then again it's got 66 more cc's. Don't let the reverse procedure on the honda turn you off, granted it is tricky but you get used to it quickly. My suggestion to you would be to ride both and see for yourself. If you can't, buy the 300EX, you won't be sorry. I have a '99 300EX with a few mods and luv it. The warrior is a bigger machine physically, your size may have an impact on what you're comfortable on. If your to big for the 300 spend a few more $'s and get the 400EX!!!

hmmm lets see, what would really be the point of a scramble 4x2?? well is it the flat out top speed that you should get it for?? or the front suspensoin on this great sport quad?? jeez those struts sure do make a difference, maybe if there is a Fox shock in the rear that might help....... ummm sorry it doesnt, ask my friend with his 2000 scrambler 4x4... if you want a TRAIL bike, and not a speed bike, get a 300EX, sorry polaris is a snowmobile for the summer....

Get yourself a slightly used 400 ex, or a new one. Ride one you'll love it. It will make the 300ex and the warrior look absolutely silly. Far better everything. No comparison.

They are both good machines. It takes a different riding style, but both can be ridden fairly fast. As far as the 400ex, it's a great machine, but get real, $5500 for an air cooled, radial valve head motor with no reverse. No thanks, I'll save my money until they make something with dual cams and liquid cooled. I hope Honda does this fairly soon!
