Got to ride a predator today.
I Have a friend who went down and bought him a new predator. That quad is the best handling stock quad i have ever been on! It has more power then a z400 and handles better then the 400ex. I took it threw a whoop section and it was like it had a steering dampner. My only complaints are the plastic and seat are ugly (My Opinion) and it could use a little more bottom end. I ride a mx 250r and other then suspension setup and you can tell it is heavier it handled as well as my R. Polaris did a good job on this machine.

How can you expect to be taken seriously when you don't even understand simple economics. The Polaris is an AMERICAN machine. It is built by an AMERICAN company. That means the money generated from their sales helps the AMERICAN economy. Even if they do buy their motors from Japan, in the end it is still benefitting the AMERICA. Your japanese bike is built by the japanese. Nothing against japanese people, but I can't see any reason to help their economy instead of AMERICA'S. Especially since I do have a choice. If there were no AMERICAN companies building quads, I could understand. My Predator, (AMERICAN) is far superior to your 400ex (japanese).
Buy AMERICAN!!

People give an honest opinion on a machine that they actually rode and this is the crap they get - Rustyshackleford wrote -
Sounds like something my 10 year old and his friends would say. No, sorry, they outgrew that a couple of years ago.

If you put the difference in cost into your Z400 you still wouldn't have the power, the handling, the reliability, or the six months warranty.
I have put big bucks into a 400ex and this is what I found.... and yes I realize a stock Z400 makes 3-4 more HP than a stock 400ex.
I have a fully modded 416ex and every sproket combo for it. My stock Predator with stock gearing will out run it if your running over 300 feet. Under 300 feet you gotta be spot on to beat it and then it's only by inches. You have a better chance on gravel then ashpalt, the ex will loop out while the predator won't.
On the track the Predator is faster. The Ex's power is strong and not as easliy controlable without alot of suspension work.
I'm a Honda guy and just bought my TLD Predator so I would have a new bike, thinking I would trade it in on the next new Honda. Well, the next new Honda is going to have to be very impressive before I give the Pred up.
I still can't believe I OWN AND LIKE A POLARIS
