Alright guys, you have been very informative so far, so don't let me down. Cobra use to be the best pipe(10 years ago) but now you have White Brothers and FMF and SuperTrap. I was just wondering what some of you guys who have bought these think. Any input would be appreciated.

 

What kind of quad will you be putting it on? Some pipes are good for racing and not for mud riders or "Utility atvs". Supertrapp is the one that highlifter uses in their high performance kit. It is a kit made to give more power to turn bigger tires, so supertrapp must be a good in that field. I know FMF is probably the most heard about racing pipes, but I do not race so I do not know which is the best of FMF ,white brothers, Cobra, Big Gun.

I recently installed a Supertrapp IDS pipe and silencer in my 1999 TRX300 4X4, and like the additional power and top end. Make sure that you get a jet kit to compensate for the increased airflow through the engine. I run 4 discs in the silencer to keep it reasonably quiet, but have had as many as 8 discs in it, it made a bunch more power, but was too loud for the hunting camp. So back to 4 discs for now.

 

fmf makes the "power bomb" and the "high flow" for 4-strokes but unfortunately I don't see anything for your x.

I have a white bros. pipe on my 300EX and its great gives it a ton more power. I think its an excellent choice. I also have a K&N filter, holes drilled in the airbox and a headpipe.

 

You asked what was the best pipe, not the cheapest, but the best. I have two Big Gun systems on Honda XR dirtbikes and love them. Read a review at the link below.

Get the FMF MegaMax - it too is for the 300EX - and it comes complete with the whole pipe including the header part - With no other mods on the 250 - you'll see a big difference. Well worth the money i say!
