Composite Floorboard Durability
#1
Just wanting to see what personal experiences anyone may have with the durbility or damage reports on the new composite floorboards on the Foreman and Rancher. Has anyone "broken" or damaged them? If so, how did it occur?
Thanks

No problems here, it looks like they would be weak on the outside, but if you look under there is a metal bar running underneath it, making it very durable. I like their design better than Polaris's, Arctic Cat's, Suzuki's, Kawasaki's, and Yamaha's, because it has the positive things of a floorboard, but yet has a full footpeg.

the polaris' have integrated footpegs also. I like the polaris floorboards better because the mudflap does not go past the floorboard creating a spot between the wheel and the mud flap where things such as a toppled small tree sappling could get wedged between. In most cases this would be ok because the mud flap would just bend and let the object pass but the floor board prevents large movement.but then again I must think this just because I own a polaris, right?

About a month ago a fellow rider named "Jack" who goes with us on occasion managed to get his 450 ES really crossed up crossing a log at a diagnal angle. The Quad came down hard on the left floorboad and shattered the outside edge of the floorboard but that was as far as the damage went. They seem to be well made. I have also seen a couple of Polaris composite floorboards damaged in similar situations. It takes a rather hard hit to break them it seems.
