Production CRF450EX and 650EX!!!
AGAIN people are talking about the motors Honda "will" use because of their race proven history.
Any kind of motor with a racing history WON"T be used in a Honda quad due to the legal problems they have had in the past.
If you can make a connection w/ the motor and racing, don't bet on it being in a Honda production quad.
And everyone w/ "reliable" sources... GIVE IT UP!!!!!!
Let me say it a couple more times just so people might get it...
Honda + quad + racing = A DREAM!!!!
CRF450 + quad = A DREAM!!!!
over 30 HP + Honda + quads = NEVER!!!!
motor + racing + quad = A Cannondale!!!!
Oh and RINCON, the 4-stroke BIKE limit is 450, BUT the limit for 4-stroke quads is still 440.
DirtDiggler - the forum member you are talking about is probably Tprender. And yes, he IS a member of the ATVA board so he definitely knows what he's talking about.

MxDale71,
Thaks for reminding me of the right member.
AlbaBanshe,
Are you sure it's not the CR250r motor in a 400ex chassis that Service Honda is building? Honda did help them design the forward kickstarter but they (Honda) aren't making the quad Service Honda is. Unless you know something different.
I don't know about the Rincon engine. I would be a little bumbed about that engine in a sport quad with push rods and an auto tranny. It won an endurance race which doen't necessarily make it fast. imho

I am seting here with the Feb. issue of Dirt Wheels and it says, and I quote,:
HONDA TWO-STROKE UPDATE
" The latest word from Service Honda is the two-stroke, CR250 powered quad is aimost through the testing phase
of the project. We snuck into the FMF dyno room and snapped a few photos to show you guys what this thing is all about. It appears that Service Honda is doing a very sano job with mounting the motor ,radiator and kick starter. It kicks forward. The motor will use a 38mm Keihin carb and the goal is for it to have a broad power-band topping out in the 38-40 hp range. The machine will be nearly 60 pounds lighter than a 400EX. Impressive. Stay tuned right here for the latest word."
The picture is a 400ex with a CR 250 motor in it and the back plastics are off it to show the FMF pipe off.
It says SPORTRAX TRX 250R on the side.
Why would Service Honda make a 250r if Honda was going to make one?

I really doubt honda would build a good race ready machine. I read an article in ATV Rider Magazine which ahd a quote from a Honda Rep. that said, "Honda doesn't like to use ATV's and racing in the same sentence.
