When i had my 300ex it was fun for about 5 months. its easy to wheelie, donuts are pretty easy, its not very good in mud cause the rev limiter kicks in alot, and it jumps perfectly, its also very light unlike the mojave and lakota which weigh in at 460 i think. Heres a list of bikes i beat when i had it stock: mojave(no problem), 250ex, stock blaster, and a recon. Once i got a pipe(supertrrap which i DONT recommend), k&n filter, and Holeshot tires(which i dont recommend either cause they are too gummy and waste really fast, go with shredder or razr) i was able to beat a piped Lakota sport with no problem.

I love myn Stock they are great but once modded WOW Myn will keep up with a Z400 on a MX track I do it every weekend, I have 250R a-arms works shocks 11:1 Wiseco 0.060 over, FMF power core IV pipe, 400ex tires. It handles and jumps with the best of them, wheelies easily and it very balanced to ride one for a mile.... or 1/4 mile. I can dance through trees on tight trails because it's so light

I had a 300 ex before i got the raptor. It is a nice bike I just wanted more power. If you put a pipe on it and rejet I would recomend going up a tooth on the Counter sprocket that will give you a little more top end. With the pipe and jets it kinda does away with first gear on the stock counter sprocket. your out of first gear before you know it. The choke and the reverse lever could have been in a better spot but oh well. All around the 300 ex is a very good bike and you will have alot of fun on it but in my opinion if i had the money I would go with the 400 ex or the new susuki because they have a little more to offer. Either way you will be happy.

hey, hange of plans. i was thinkin and thinkin and thinkin.and my conclusion is....
i know know that the 300ex is a good bike but slow, and this is my 1st "real" bike il be buying my self. il have to save for a few months unless i get the money from my wolverine, i might not get it all tho but anyways il be keeping my next bike for a while and im afraid il outgrow it quickly and i probly wont have enough money to keep pimpin it up so maybe i should save up the extra 500$ or so and just get a 400ex. il b much happier and will look alot better showin off for the gals lol(not recommended, when u do that u usally mess up lol) anyways i do need the clearance and reverse but theres ways to get around that like 22" razrs or 22" realtors and bring a hand winch in my book bag. and it is defantly powerful enough for now and fast enough for shure. what do you all think? im pretty much set on a 400ex, everyone i talk to got a 400 and say how much they love them but when i ask about the 300, they work great, but slowwwww, loose here loose there so on so on. well so i geuss im gettin a 400 i cant believe i was thinkin about a 300 all i had to do was think about it. 400EX ALL THE WAY!!!

......you need sadle time......
i'm no pro-man, but you know....
300ex here, i don't use my reverse, cruise in third, cut the wheel and spin it around anywhere, even on pavment. same as on a 400ex or other make.
ground clearance.dude don't put 22's on a 400ex...........please
you need to think about where you'll be riding, what bikes' you'll be riding aginst, and you experiance. i see you have a wolverine, but thats no 400ex.
the 400 is no CBR or anything, but it's not a cadilac either.
wise choise deciding on the 400ex. one year or less on the 300 and you'll be jumping off to push it to gain top end.
i like my 300 in the TRAILS, but i hate it on open roads. i feel like i'm ganna blow it up so i useually just put in 5th. till i get there.
