Now that I will purchase the 450 S. What about the tires. I do want to upgrade to a more aggressive tire, but I don't won't to put something on there that will tear something up. What is the best tire on the market. There will be a lot of mud riding involved, but also some pleasure riding also.

I have the 26x12x12 Bearclaws on the rear of my 450 and 26x12x12 Mudsharks on the front. It has been the best combo for me for all around use. Also I have over 2000 miles on it with these tires and still have had no problem with ball joints, tie rods or bearings. I also have the Highlifter lift kit. I didnt need the lift for wheel clearance just wanted more ground clearance.

VAMPIRES HAVE BEEN TOP-RATED FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS, ALTHOUGH I'VE HEARD THAT TITAN 589'S ARE GOOD I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO WITNESS THIS MYSELF.I HEARD THAT THE TITAN'S HAVE A 1.5" DEEP TREAD.

Tread is 33/32" just over an inch for the Titan 589's for all sizes is what the home office says.

I am running the maxxis mudbug tires. Which I believe are the lightest 6ply mud tire on the market. I have very, very happy with them, and they look really cool to. They do great on the trails, mud, and snow. I was looking for a great traction tire, but didn't want one that rode really rough, which I heard the vamps do..... needless to say these tires fit the bill I was looking for to a "T"

Hope this helps

Just wondering if you had a photograph of the tires on the bike.

Jughead:
Before purchasing my AC, I was looking at the 450ES. I was also curious about changing the stock tires, and two of the Honda dealers said they recommend running Mud Sharks-26x9 in front, and 26x12 in back. They said that for the tire itself, it was great for nearly everything, as an all around tire. Tread wear was supposed to be great, and give a good ride as well, and still not hurt the machine at all. I believe they are a 4 ply rating, so they would be more puncture resistant than stock, and with the 26"ers, you'd gain a little ground clearance. One of the dealers told me that if I bought the 450ES, he'd swap the stock tires, for the Mud Sharks, for free. Both dealers have 450ES's, with the Mud Sharks mounted on display for sale. I don't know about the dealers out your way, but they may be willing to do something similar with you if you ask.

Anyhow, good luck to you!

Oh, www.rockymountainatv.com has a picture of the Mud Sharks, as well as several other tires for pretty decent prices. www.treadpot.com is also a good site for tires. Hope this helps.

Mike

My riding partner has these on his 450ES and loves them. This site has lots of good info on and pictures of tires. He has 26 X 12 X 12's on all four corners. They seem to be a killer set up.
He loves them. Call the MFG for details.

I had heard that Agriculture tires can go through about anything, they're also very good on hilly terrain. Anyone have any experiences with these tires?
