Default 250r for trails?

I'm on the prowl for a 250r in need of some tlc. My question is, are they reliable? I ride a few times a month and I take care of my quads. Most of the riding is trails and hillclimbing and maybe some snow. I like the 2-stroke but not a fan of banshees they seem to eat plugs like crazy. Will the 250r do this? I have a blaster with a fatty, pc2,k&n filter and block off kit. I never have problems with it. Also does anyone run paddles in the snow? My buddies were thinkin about getting some. Any info would help. later

I currently have my 87250R set up for the Trails & it's extremely Reliable. I've geared it down & threw on a Oversize Clark tank to give me aprox. an 80 mile range. My riding buddies have been EXTREMELY impressed with where & how this puppy will run the roughest trails. Banshees won't go where you can take an "R"

Yomama, is right gear the front sprocket down a tooth and it is an awesome trail machine.

Also if tight trailriding is your thing I suggest getting an ESR trx-6 pipe. This is their low-end mid-range torque pipe. I have one on my R and I have to tell you it is incredible!

It gives you more low end power then you will know what to do with without sacrificing too much top end.

If you are going to ride deep snow, take a look at the ohutsu pro-wedge tires, maxxis I beleive just came out with a cheaper copy. These tires will turn your quad into a snow-mobile!

Thanks guys, I think I might get serious about finding one. Reliability is a must for me, I can't stand breaking down in the middle of BFE if ya know what I mean?!
