TRX450R is coming

if the 450 does have beefed up power much like the Cannondale 440's and the Predator 500..... then it probably won't have much bolt-on potential, just as those quads don't either.... I'm sure it will be the lightest weight, best handling quad when it comes out, but I doubt it will match the Raptor's bolt-on potential.... there's just no substitute for Cc's
perhaps Honda will also come out with the rumored 650EX.... that handles like the 450 will and the 400EX does....
now THAT would be the quad of choice for most buyers I think

I hope it isn't a 650ex. Because I doubt it will handle like the 400ex. Or like a TRX450 would. The bike would
be to tall like the Raptor. There is really no way around it, because they will have to build the chasis around
the 650 motor. which is a bigger motor. Anyways if (AND IT'S A BIG IF) the new honda is based on the crf450r motor in the dirt bike, That motor with a good pipe can put out to close to 50 hp. The Raptor with the bolt-ons only put out close 45-46 hp. Plus the 450 would be lighter & handle better. But ofcourse if Honda does release a quad based on the CRF450 motor, it will probably have a milder cam & smaller carburetor. So you would have to change that to be where the CRF450 motor is in performance. But I would be willing to do that, to have a more powerful, lighter & better handling quad than the Raptor or a possible 650ex.

Exactly, there is no reason that the crf450 wouldnt respond well to mods. The original motor responds well and performs awesome. its just a matter of retuning the bike to make the horsepower it is capable of making. Its a honda after all...sheesh..

The Predator has lot's of performance parts aside form pipes, jet kit's and air filters. Try 580cc and 635cc kit's, cams, valves, porting, carbs all showing performance gains.
The Predator is beefed up stock yes, but THERE IS ALOT OF BOLT-ON POTENTIAL also.

It would be nice if Honda did get with the program and offer us another high performance quad to help us with our problem of not enough broken bones. LOL. If any quad manufacturer made the quad I wanted it would cost over $15,000. Our best bet is to buy the quad that looks good and has the most available performance mods to make it the quad we want. You can either sit here and wait for someone to make what you want or go make it yourself. Thats why I'm putting a CRF450 motor in my EX. I won't have to worry about "de-tuning". I'm not meaning to make anyone mad but it just makes sense.

I find it strange they had pics of everything else they mentioned in that sentence and not one of the TRX450r. It would be cool but until tomorrow never comes does arrive I will be roosting on the Predator.

If they do reveal a 450ex soon, the chances of anyone getting one will most likly be another year. Look at the Rincon, they reveal it, yet almost a year later, you can start buying it. Now look at the 400 Rancher. How long have we known about that, 6 months or so. Yet there is still no shipping date or even a price on it. So it seems when ever Honda reveals a atv, it takes a year before we can buy it. So with no reavealing of a sport 450ex, I would say it's still a year away.

Honda isn't going to put a CRF450 motor in a quad. Be real here. The motor is in to high of demand for the dirtbike let alone a quad.. Yamaha isn't gonna put a YZF450F motor in a quad either. It will be a YZF400 since this motor is proven and no longer on the assembly line.. A quad getting a brand new engineered dirtbike motor. That's funny.....LOL
