Default Changing Stock 400EX Piston to (10:1-11:1) compression piston without boring??

Can you get a higher compression piston for the stock 400EX piston size but with a higher compression ratio???? Say 10:1, 10.5:1, 11:1??? Without boring cylinder? A buddy of mine just got his motor rebuilt by Honda under Warranty. He was looking into a higher comp piston with same size as stock to get a little more juice out of his ol EX. He also is installing HotCams Stage 1 or 2 unsure on it yet,but prob stage 1. He also has FMF Power Bomb header and MegaMax Pipe, re-jetted carb, Clarke 5.5 gallon fuel tank and K&N filter,.

Can you find one and any noticable increases in performance by doing so???????

when i had stock bore i ran a 11:1 piston ported and polished and a hot cam, it ran fine decent power but not enogh to keep up with 330s and motos so i went fulll race

Was there any noticable difference in power. He doesn't race just Trail Rides and Hillclimbing. He said he really didn't want to go big bore just yet but would like to squeeze a little more out of the stock size bore motor.


Hey Shwo with a 11:1 piston should he got with stage 1 or 2 HotCam??? Which would you recommend???
