Badest 300EX
#11
I just did the 250R/ 400EX a-arm conversion on myn, it was very easy they bolted up and look like they belong there It's about +1 1/2 not quite +2 I have pics of it, I will post some in my gallery. I bought my a-arms off Ebay for $26 their off a '88 250R and look perfect no paint wore off the bottom. Check out http://powroll.com/honda_300ex.htm, they have several big-bore kits and performance upgrades for the 300ex. For the Engine, I would go 0.080 over with 11:1 wiseco piston, 400EX carb, Webcam racecam, stiff springs, FMF power core 4, ported head, UNI filter, 350X carb boot, oversize valves, DID cam-chain. That would make it very quick and have more power that a 400ex and Z400, I have the 250R conversion and Works Double rates and I love the way it handles.

Ok,
Why do I need a 350x carb boot? He wants to run that 400ex alky carb from FTZ so I wont need a cooler I don’t think, The bore kit is probably going to come from powroll, the best kit they have, I don’t know on an exaust but it needs to have a bigger headpipe. I still have a few more questions, does anybody sell a bigger fuel tank for a 300? Will I need to extend it? How good are the FCR shocks? And Where can I get some wild powercoat job?
Thanks for all the help-

350x carb boot lets you put a bigger carb on. You can use the 35mm with the stock 250x boot. I am running a homemade intake.
Run the powroll exhaust. It is LOUD but makes great power.
I am running the IMS gas tank. It is plastic and the prominent reason I bought it. Alky draws moisture and will rust the stock steel tank.
Check around on the net or local race shops to find powdercoaters. THey will all offer any color you want.

I've got a 87 250x, i had the engine built by 4-stroke tech. I had them put a 380 kit in it. I've been very impressed with the results. I race it on the short tracks and drag race it. I've found very few machines that will out run it or out pull it off the line.
I did run it on alky but i didn't like the slight bogg effect it had on the track.
My advice is to contact 4-stroke teck and see what they can do for you if money isn't a problem.

I have the powroll 3" supertrapp and personally I don't think it's that loud. It's nothing compared to some of the bikes that I build up for locals here. For example my exhaust is probly 5 times quieter then a raptor I put a Yoshi slip on on. But to each his own.
