My 250x is pretty bad. I am considering selling the parts (12.7mm stroker crank, big bore, head, cam, 39 FCR on alky). I have yet to be beat by a 440ex.
RaceWarrior,
1. Powroll for bore/stroke
2. FCR from FTZ. 35mm if less than a 352, 39 if larger.
3. 400ex or 250R pieces
4. I have the JAGG cooler on mine. Its available from most parts dealers. You don't want a cooler for alky though.

With the cooler and on alky on cool days, my clutch would stop working right and then my engine would stop running right. I would have to stop and let the engine warm up. Exactly opposite from my banshee.

I'm the guy with the widened 250X. I used '89 250R A-Arms and works shocks for the front. I kept the stock upper mounts and the shocks I bought were valved and spring for +2 A-Arms.
If you want to have a reliable engine in your EX don't go over a 330, anything bigger and you will be grenading transmissions, thats the weak point of this engine. Don't buy Four Stroke Tech's oil cooler for $95. You can make your own for less then $30 All you need is a transmission cooler and some rubber hose. Your OEM parts finder would have to be www.servicehonda.com
Good luck and if you have any questions pm me.
