I was wondering how often you guys lube up the chains on your quads and dirt bikes? I just got a 400EX, and the last thing I want to do is wear it out prematurely. Are there any other things I need to know about, like grease points, something else? Thanks.

 

I hit my O ring chains with chain lube every other ride, or whenever it is dry.. I lube non o ring chains every ride....iF in sand dont lube them at all becasue oil attracts sand it will act like sand paper

 

I clean and lube after every ride. It takes the most abuse out of anything on your bike.

 

Turn the wheels so you can apply chain lube to the entire chain, check chain slack and adjust if necessary.

Occasionally remove the master link and take the chain completely off and wash it in parts washing fluid, re-lube in a pan immerse in chain lube if possible, re-install then adjust chain slack.

 

I use Maxum chain wax after every 3 hours of riding or so. When crap builds up on my chain, I use a pressure washer to remove it, let it dry then use the chain wax again.

 

My brand new 300ex doesn't have a master link. My dealer says that it is an endless chain. That isn't to great when I try to take it off and clean it.

 

Hi i know this isn't about chains but has anyone ever heard of a "Honda 200 trx sx" (atv)?? that's what i have and i have never heard of or seen one like mine.

 

yea i used to have a 87 200 sx but i sold it

 

400ex what colour was it and did you have a problem with the chain?, because mine always comes loose.
