Some other guy wrote this, I just pasted it in for ya:

Start by removing the black air intake boot on the back side of the carb. Look into the large hole and the choke will be visible. Beyond the choke, work the thumb throttle and you will see the "slide" moving up and down.

At full throttle, the slide should be seated all the way to the top (dissapearing from sight). Take your finger and check for further movement if there is room and adjust the cable at the thumb throttle till the slide remains at the top position at full throttle.

You can bet the ranch that there will be room to raise it on a 2000 model!...probably at least 3\8ths of an inch. Re-install the boot and let her rip.

The difference is unbelievable! I had to practically sit on the gas tank to keep the front end down through every gear!

All you actually have to do is remove all the slack in your throttle cable by using the top adjuster. A friend bought his at the same time as I did, I adjusted mine right away. He still hasn't adjusted his and the performance difference is obvious.

One word of caution in adjusting the throttle..after it has been adjusted, be sure to turn your bars full lock in both directions while the engine is at idle. If the rpms increase during this maneuver, you have the cable too tight, so loosen it just enough that the idle remains the same
