my 300ex is making weird tapping nioses when the engine is running and when im driving its making a clicking noise and i was wondering if any1 knew what is was?? ithink it is the valves tapping but i dont really kno and if it is the valves can i still ride? can any1 give me some suggestions on it.

It's probly the valves tapping. All you need to do is adjust your valvelash and then see if it goes away if it doesnt then the tapping noise could be a lot of other things.

i just looked at ur 300ex pix and that is 1 SWEET QUAD!!!

Your best bet is to get a service manual for yoru EX. It's they're really inexpensive and a valuable asset to maintaining you quad.

 

or just take it to the shop............

its only 1 or 2 hours of labor,it cant be that much.........
mabe $100.bucks or something

it sounds like the valves need adjusting.....

 

I would go with the manual. You can save some money and do it yourself. When I did my first job which was replacing a clutch it gives you a lot of confidence. I would go with the manual. You will make sure that everything is put back as perfect as it can be because it is your quad.

A manual is cheaper then the $55+++ an hour that a dealer charges. The dealership I work at charges $65 an hour for me to even touch anything. A manual costs about $30.

 

You can at least try it. If you don't fix it you aren't out anything but your time and the manual. You can always use the manual for anything else. I use mine for everything I do. Give it a shot and tell us how it works out.
