Default speed rest mod for trx90???

Hello out there. My son has a 2002 trx90 that he rec rides and races flat track and tt. I have changed exhaust to the big gun and went to a 15 tooth sprocket. just in doing this the little thing will fly and finished 3rd in our last race. BUT the pesky saftey gov. kicks in shortly after shifting to 4th. I have found a kit to do away with this but its 80$. I figure there must be a simple way to by-pass this by splicing a wire here or there?? Any one could give us some help a tough riding 8yr old would be really happy.!!

Thanks

For your $80 you're probably getting a modified CDI box. I bet they want your old one too. If you want to bypass the rev limiter that's the only thing you can do. And then you're risking damage to the motor from over revving.

I just bought a 2002 TRX90 for the kids. Has a Big Gun pipe. Put on a K@N and drilled the box lid for air flow. Let me know what you guys have done for "performance"
