Snow Plowing With Rubi
#1
I am thinking of getting a Rbuicon and want to ask you Rubi owners about plowing on back dirt roads and drives up and down hills i have a 87 350 forman with orignal (bald) tires and it is amazing what it will do will roll full blade of snow blade down all the way on dirt up hill! does the rubi have this kind of HUMMMMP ? but in trial rideing and working with it all day it will kinda get the best of a good man, I think i need a new softer ,easy sterring ride would i be happy with a rubi ?

have an 02 rubi and use it constantly for plowing. i have a 48" straight moose blade.. use it to move snow around the barns and the driveway. use the winch to raise/lower it..no problems. don't have chains..
we received over 10 ft. of snow this year and have not had a problem with it.. it does get a little tricky when the drifts get large, but you can angle the blade to remove the tops of the banks, then you have more room to move.
the driveway is dirt/gravel..
hope this helps. i'd recommend it

I went out on a trip with a guy that was riding a Rubicon that was fully loaded and he says it plows like a dream. He had lots of praise for the smoothness of the auto tranny in it. It is one big pig when it gets stuck though! Get a winch.

You will have no problems pushing snow. We have gotten over 7 ft this year and wet or powder I have had no problems. Manual 48in Cycle Country is effortless to lift and lower and is disconnected with two pins. Auto tranny has been perfect and simple to operate.
I was doing the neighbors large driveway the other day after 12in snow. Was pushing piles to up over 5 ft and neighbor was amazed at how well the Ruby moved it - he plows the airport runways and shopping malls with large equipment so he has some knowledge.
I would still ride one to see if it meets your expectations on ride and steering though.

Thanks for the input sounds like they do ok if they are half as tough as the 350 fourtrax forman it will be a fine machine, you would not belive the work (abuse) i have put this thing through I use it for everything form plowing out potatoes, hauling in wood, pulling cars & trucks, moving campers, portable saw mills and anything else you can think of, I would not put a new ruby to this kind of abuse just trail ,hunting and snow plowing old blue will just have to do the rest .
have some pictures how do i post them?

Hey guys, here is my 2003 Rubicon.
I havent used the plow much yet this Winter , but a few times. Cold but not alot of snow here...
Works very good.
The only probs I have had is the Radiator had a pinhole leak from the factory.
I definetly had to get a winch, its waaay to heavy to move out of mud bogs heh.

If you look above the section you type in, during a reply, you see a little blue script box that says http, you click on that, and enetr the url of the picture you want to post. You also name the picture.
Of course, you have to have the picture on the net, not just on your computer, thanks Chad
