THEY HAVE THE SAME FRAME,STYLE ECT...

BUT THAT LONGER STROKE OR WHATEVER THEY DID 2 THE 300EX DOES GIVE IT ALOT MORE LOW END A LOT MORE OFF THE HOLE AND HELPS IT DO WHILLYS A LOT EASIER I MEAN ALOT

CAUSE MY EX IS BONE STOCK AND MY FRIEND HAS A 250X WITH K&N FILT FMF PIPE AVER SIZED CARB AND ITS A DOG THIS ALSO HAS 20S ON THE BACK STILL BARLY WHILLYS IN 2ND GEAR U HAVE 2 FEATHER THE HELL OUT OF THE CLUTCH AND THEN THERES MINE THAT WILL WHILLY IN 4TH GEAR

SO U GUYS THAT THINK 250XS ARE = TO A 300EX ARE ON CRACK

 

i never said that they were the exact same quad. the 300ex does have more bottom end than the 250x. maybe your friend got ripped off and got a bad one. or your friend has no idea on how to use a clutch my 230 quadsport can wheelie in third gear and it is mostly stock. and i barely have to use the clutch or rev it just to get it to wheelie. so i know that a 250x can do it just as easy. especially if ya know what you are doing.

 

Yeah, but when you stopped your friend on the 250x and wanted to race to settle it once and for all, who won? I thought so. The end of the race was the best part, when someone had to be picked out of the apple tree. And for the wheelies, you aren't going too fast if your front end is pointing straight up.

My best friend has a 250x. I just bought a 2k 300ex.we race constantly and its close but the 300 is faster. He even admits it. He loves riding it and he rides it all the time he said that it has more power and its faster. his is a 91. And by the way it all depends on where you live and i hope you all know that the better you break in your quad the more power you get out of it!!!!

 

I had a 1987 250x. I sold it to buy a 1995 300ex. Wrong I should have keep the 250x. It was faster in the woods, front end stayed down better on the hills. Be carefull on the early years they had a weak 2nd And to fix it you have to up date it for around $300. in parts. Either way they are both good bikes.
