Blackwater XT...Good tire???
#1
Has anyone tried Blackwater XT's?? They seem like a good compromise....Not to aggressive, yet they still have some meat on them...I was thinking about upgrading the stock tires on my '02 Rancher, but some of the tires out there seem a little too aggresive. The Kenda Bearclaws also seem pretty decent.

Bearclaws are a nice tire, but when I saw the blackwater XT's sitting on my dealers showroom floor, I couldn't resist. I put them on 3 years ago, and it was the best change I made to my Forman. No more flat tires, great ground clearance (larger height), good ride on hardpack (esp. when compared to other mud tires) excellent in mud and snow (words cannot describe) and they have been wearing really well (even plowing snow all this winter), most of the tread remaining still!!! I highly reccommend them to everyone, I'll have another set if these filnally wear out.

Depends on what you want them to do. They are not very good for deep mud and there kind of heavy for a trail tire. From what I've seen on other ranchers, if you ride in alot of mud and still want a decent tire for the trail the Mudbugs would be my choice. If you ride mostly trails, I don't know--I don't ride many trails.

a friend of mine has them on his big bear 350 and they are a great tire they are 6 ply so if you do ever have a flat on the trail but I like em and would highly recommend them for you on the rancher it would be a good tire you probably wouldn't lose much if any power so I would say go with them and they tread wear is also great with that tire my freind has had his for a few years and still rolling good in the mud to we always go mud ridin and they handle just fine so I would say get them
